Common Service Questions
Frequently Asked Questions About Our Support Services
Families often have questions about eligibility, service coordination, support settings, and timelines when getting started. We’re here to provide clear guidance and help you understand how services are structured and delivered across home and community environments.
Who qualifies for IDD and autism services in Philadelphia, PA, and how is eligibility determined?
Individuals with a documented intellectual or developmental disability, including autism, may qualify for services based on state assessments and eligibility through the Office of Developmental Programs (ODP). Once approved, a Support Coordinator helps develop an Individual Support Plan (ISP) and connect individuals to services.
Do you provide in-home, community-based, and live-in support services in Philadelphia?
Yes. Services are provided in-home and within community settings based on the individual’s needs and authorized supports. All services are delivered in accordance with the Individual Support Plan (ISP) and are designed to promote independence, safety, and meaningful participation in daily life.
Are respite care and companion care available as alternatives to facility-based services?
Yes. Respite and Companion services support individuals in their homes and communities by providing supervision, social engagement, and relief for caregivers. These services help individuals maintain stability, build relationships, and continue participating in daily life within familiar environments.
How long does it take to start services after an intake request in Philadelphia?
Service start timelines can vary depending on eligibility, service authorization, and required documentation. Once services are approved and coordinated with the individual’s Support Coordinator, many individuals are able to begin services shortly after.
